British Summary

In 1978, a new British Championship format was introduced.
Each driver raced 3 times in 9 Heats. Top point scorer after 9 heats starts on Pole.
The remaining drivers available to race line up in points order up to a maximum of 32 cars.
Over the years the amount of heats have decreased but drivers still race 3 times.
Winner of the British Championship is entitled to wear a Black and White Chequered roof until the next British Championship is contended.
