DRIVER INTERVIEW

How did you find Brisca F1 Stock Cars?
My parents used to go watching along with speedway in the fifties and sixties at the old Belle Vue, so when us kids came along we too were introduced to the sport, my first meeting was the World Final at Belle Vue 1969. When Smithy romped away with it, from then on I was a 391 wildcat fan.

What gave you the incentive to race
I've wanted to race all my life, watching all through the seventies and eighties. It's all I've wanted to do when i was growing up.

First Car - Built, Bought or Borrowed
First car I bought was from Ray Witts in Oct 2000; sold it Nov 2009. Second car will be a brand new bare metal Wainman chassis, finished by myself using the engine and box from the old car.

Memory of your first race.
First race was Coventry April 2001; it rained all day and most of the meeting, started at the back behind superstars, got on the wet loose a couple of times in the race and slid into the fence which broke my goggles so film was streaming behind me and didnt work anymore, ended up finishing ninth which was ok.

Best Racing Memory
Best racing memory was my first win at Sheffield 2003 holding off Frankie 515 last bender. I've put a video on youtube of this, what my dad filmed, search "brisca f1 220" should bring it up if you like to watch.

Worst Racing Memory
Worst memory, nothing major really, just loads of bad luck, getting taken out on last lapspunctures, missing out on wins and ending up second hird when i should have won, but thats racing for you....
