DRIVER INTERVIEW

How did you find Brisca F1 Stock Cars?
I grew up with trying all sorts of different sports, football trials, riding, but when my dad sponsored Peter Grimer when he was Hot Rod World Champion in 1985 season, it all started from there really. After a couple years going with Pete he put dad in touch with Alan Nicholson (of Olive and Nicholson) who had a mini stox for his son paul for sale. My dad bought it off him for me and we started racing in the 1987 season with the National Mini Stox Club. I raced them until my retirement in Nov 1989. obviously when we started going racing the ultimate vision is to race an F1 but i never thought i would.

What gave you the incentive to race
I've never needed an incentive to race, the privilege to be able to race is enough to motivate me to do what needed.

First Car - Built, Bought or Borrowed
My first car was a year old FWJ bought from Richard Doleman 150. it was a dual surface car that we did really well in. We have since sold it onto Joe Booth.

Memory of your first race.
What an absolute animal !!! All that horsepower, very little stopping power makes for an interesting race. I was used to the F2 with excellent brakes and steering and little power. It was a baptism of fire. Would not give it up for anything now.

Best Racing Memory
Winning the 2004 UK Open closely following by the second place in the Semi at Belle Vue 2005.

Worst Racing Memory
Crashing after winning my heat at Skegness UK weekend in 2008 and not knowing anything about it until I woke up on sunday morning in my bed wondering how I got there!!

Reason for Retiring
NA

After Retiring - What Then?
