DRIVER INTERVIEW

How did you find Brisca F1 Stock Cars?
I'd been watching stock car racing since I was a small kid, and  was taken there by my parents who saw posters and newspaper ads around our area for Brafield.

What gave you the incentive to race
Racing a stock car was the natural progression for a young race fan like me once I was old enough to drive.

First Car - Built, Bought or Borrowed
My first stock car was built myself and my friend Chris Pickup (50) from an old chassis that was originally built by Pete Shepherd (144)

Memory of your first race.
My first race was at the Snetterton Circuit, and I remember getting in Stu Smiths (391) way at the end of the 'Esses' straight and getting 'tapped' from his front bumper. I also remember Frankie Wainman (212) speeding past me down the back straight, then watching him roll over into the potato field as he took the tight corner at the end , too quickly. There were not that many cars in the consi, and I came in 7th place and qualified for the final.

Best Racing Memory
Too many to mention, but always enjoyed racing at Brands Hatch

Worst Racing Memory
Racing at the Oxford Stadium, the day after hearing of Brian Wallace's (119) tragic death the previous night at White City (Manchester)

Reason for Retiring
The cars and the style of racing became far removed from the 'fun' sport for the ordinary guy that it used to be.

After Retiring - What Then?
Went back to becoming a race fan, then after after emigrating to Canada , I got involved in the media side of auto racing.
