DRIVER PROFILE

Tony started his racing career in 1972 under the number #101. He raced one season, retiring before the 1973 season. Tony recommenced his racing career in 1976, this time under the number #100. Sometime during the 1976 season, Tony was seriously injured in a racing incident at Brafield (Northampton), when whilst stuck in the fence on the home straight, another car hit him from behind at full speed. Tony was believed to have been paralysed from the incident. A was arranged to be raced for annually, starting in 1978 at the Christmas Meetings. In 1981, the meeting was changed to one of the last Northampton meetings of the season and the race changed to the Grand National. Tony sadly died in 1985, and the has been raced for up until 1997, when the winner of the that year could not be located the following season and thus the was "Lost" forever.
