Bradford

TRACK PROFILE

Odsal Stadium : Due to rugby being the main sport at Odsal, Stock Cars did not survive past 1955, but 20 years later Barry Gommersal transformed the track with a plate fence and beams to protect the pitch.
Originally shale, until Stuart Bamforth took over in 1977 and tarmac'd it. Shale returned in 1985, due to the Speedway World Final, but due to Bradford City FC relocated after the fire, the 1986 season was lost.
Steve Rees took over in 1996 trying to revive what Bradford had lost, but at the end of 1997, the Rugby League put their foot down and stopped Stock Cars altogether.
Bradford closed to F1's amidst a "Superdome" being built in its place - It was never built. Very unlikely to ever return - but maybe??
Odsal is BACK!!! Steve Rees negociated long and hard with all involved and finally re-vamped the stadium to accommodate BriSCA F1 Stockcars once again in 2021. His reward was hosting the F1 2021 World Final.
2022 sees a new promotion - Yorstox, to continue promoting F1s into the next decade!
