RACE REPORT

Flag dropped and Micky Randell #172 was squeezed to the armco on the exit of turn 4, and never made it across the line. He pulled off straight away.
Meanwhile the pack charged down to the first bend and Rob Speak #318 placed a large hit on Dan Johnson #4. Dan tried to ride the armco but his steering had been damaged and he remained cruising down the straight next to the armco coming to rest 3/4 of the way down.
Lee Fairhurst #1 passed Speak as he recovered from hitting Dan, and entering the next bend Speak again went in hard, pushing Lee hard into the fence.
This time Lee did ride the hit and raced off down the straight with Speak in tow. Lap 2 and Speak went in for another hit, but Lee was wise to it and went deep into the corner himself. Speak missed and Lee was away.
On exiting the bend Speak mounted the armco slowing his progress allowed a couple of drivers by.
As the pack all charged down the back straight, they hadn't noticed Dan Johnson was stationary, and when Paul Hines #259 swerved to miss Dan at the last second, Matt Newson #16 had no option but to hit Dan's stranded car.
Matt's car was flung sideways and hit the oncoming Craig Finnikin #55, whose front end collapsed due to the collision, which then sent Craig headlong into the armco with no brakes and no steering.
It was a very heavy hit which destroyed the front end of Craigs car. As this was happening, Matt's car had now started to reverse back into the oncoming traffic and Josh Smith #191 collected Matt's car and dragged it backwards all the way to the fence, hitting Craigs car before they came to rest.
Matt's car was badly bent, but all three drivers, Dan, Craig and Matt got out of their cars in one piece.
Cars were cleared away, and the race was restarted. #1, #22, #318, #107, #515. Flag dropped and Lee was away.
Will Yarrow #22 succombed to the faster drivers and the nly other change was Lee Robinson #107 passing Fankie Jnr #515 for third, but didn't attempt a last bend strike on Speak.
Lee drove a very controlled race and was a deserved winner on the day.
