How did you find Brisca F1 Stock Cars?
I started to go racing with Brian Wibberley #180, with also watching Bert Finnikin #55 and Dave Mellor #304 - all local drivers.
What gave you the incentive to race
Raced Ministox as a kid, then F2, but always fancied a go in F1, at least for one season, even though I knew I wouldn't have enough cash to do it for long.
First Car - Built, Bought or Borrowed
Borrowed Brian Wibberley's car for three meetings to get a feel for it before buying Brian Whorton's #408, lintern car for my first full season.
Memory of your first race.
Remembered how stiff and heavy the steering was and I used to be buggered at the end of finals due to the extra laps. Thoroughly enjoyed it though! Waiting in the tunnel to go out at Belle Vue used to get your heart beating. That place was quick and was suited to F1's.
Best Racing Memory
Winning my heat at Leicester.
Worst Racing Memory
Hitting the fence hard at Rochdale and then being collected by other cars in the side. Had a dull headache for three weeks after due to concussion!!
Reason for Retiring
Only had enough cash at the time to do one season, as I was about to get married and buy a home.
After Retiring - What Then?
In 1988 I started back in F2's No.#780. Enjoyed every minute until hanging up my helmet in 2000.
